GE Aerospace’s Defense Engines & Services organization seeks a Controls Systems Engineer to design, develop, validate and certify engine control strategies for military applications. You will work on integration of hardware and software to deliver robust, safe, and fuel-efficient propulsion solutions, supporting legacy and fielded products.
You will mentor engineers, document data, present results, manage suppliers, and collaborate across teams.
GE Aerospace’s Defense Engines & Services organization is the provider of choice for combat and trainer engines, rotorcraft and turboprop engines, mobility engines (tankers/transport), and marine gas turbines for the U.S. Armed Forces and its allies. Our team is responsible for design, manufacturing, and assembly of the engines on which the military depends, along with a vast array of services and support to approximately 30,000 engines in the field.
Have you ever wondered what makes a turbofan engine so cool? Some people think it's the fan, or the high- or low-pressure turbines, or the combustor, or even the augmentor (on military engines). On my team, we think it's the logic and software that stitch all those subsystems together to form a cohesive operating machine - one that can readily respond to pilot inputs while still providing safe and fuel-efficient thrust to complete the mission. This logic also provides diagnostic and prognostic capabilities to better support our customers' fleet needs. In this role we design, develop, validate and certify new engine control strategies to deliver innovative products for exciting Military applications; we also support legacy, fielded product needs -- investigating field events and evaluating potential solutions to provide more robust, reliable engine operation. If you have a passion for delivering integrated hardware and software solutions I'd encourage you to come check out some of the really interesting projects that we are delivering.
