Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Lead Software Development Test Engineer to lead the development and sustainment of the Cloud Test Platform deployed at multiple production facilities worldwide. You will provide first line responses to production issues, maintain the L10/L11 test infrastructure, and support deployments and expansions for New Product Introduction.

You will document installations, upgrades, and administration scripts, communicate feature enhancements, and train site test teams during releases.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 8 years of experience in programming and scripting (Python, Java, Bash)
• 8 years in developing networking systems, hardware, software and protocols and full software development lifecycle practices
• In lieu of degree, Master’s with 6 years or Ph.D./foreign equivalent with 3 years experience accepted
• 3 years of experience developing Linux with CentOS and Ubuntu

• Support incident response, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions
• Organize training for site test engineering teams during releases of new test infrastructure
• Monitor system metrics, logfiles, and alert rules to identify issues

Lead Software Development Test Engineer positions offered by Jabil Inc. (Florence, Kentucky).

Contribute to the daily operations and development of our Cloud Test Platform deployed at multiple production facilities worldwide. Provide first line responses to production issues including but not limited to outages and end user performance. Sustain support and maintenance for the manufacturing server (L10) and rack (L11) level test software and infrastructure deployed at production facilities, including the implementation of minor system configuration changes (new IPNs). Support the site’s manufacturing server (L10) and rack (L11) current test infrastructure as well as future expansions planning, deployments, and assembly. Maintain manufacturing server (L10) and rack (L11) test infrastructure documentation of installations, upgrades, management and administration scripts and utilities. Communicate manufacturing software test features enhancements while providing insights based on site operations and uptime challenges. Support manufacturing test incident response, analysis, and corrective actions for the site operations. Participate in closed loop analysis/responses to factory test failures. Organize and present provided training for site test engineering teams during the release of manufacturing server (L10) and rack (L11) test for New Product Introduction. Monitor and alert based on system metrics, analysis of logfiles and custom alert rules.

Minimum Requirements:

• Requires a Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 8 years of experience programming and scripting in Python, Java, and BASH.
• Must have 8 years of experience in each of the following: Developing networking systems, hardware, software, and protocols; and Following professional software engineering practices for the complete software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• In lieu of a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 8 years of experience as stated, employer will accept a master’s or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 6 years of experience as stated, or a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 3 years of experience as stated.
• Must have 3 years of experience developing Linux with CentOS and Ubuntu.
• Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
