Job summary

Ad Vital, based in Houston, TX, seeks a Lead Software Development Engineer to drive the technical vision of our core platform and oversee backend services, APIs, and integrations powering omni-channel communications and automated workflows.

You will mentor engineers, set coding standards, and collaborate with product, marketing, and customer success to deliver robust features, improve processes, and ensure performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Strong CS foundation in algorithms, data structures, and systems design.
• Hands-on backend web development experience with scalable, secure web apps.
• Proficiency in Java, C#, Python, Node.js, or similar with solid OOP skills.
• Experience leading projects, conducting code reviews, and mentoring teammates.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and automated testing practices.
• Ability to work on-site in Webster, TX and communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in CRM, marketing automation, healthcare, or EMR integrations is a plus.

Role Description

The Lead Software Development Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX, responsible for driving the technical vision and implementation of Ad Vital's core platform. This role oversees the design and development of backend services, APIs, and integrations that power omni-channel messaging, automation workflows, and analytics. Day-to-day activities include architecting scalable solutions, writing high-quality code, reviewing contributions from other engineers, and ensuring system reliability and performance. The Lead Engineer collaborates closely with product, marketing, and customer success teams to translate business requirements into robust technical features and improvements. This role also involves mentoring engineers, setting coding standards, and contributing to continuous improvement of development processes and tooling.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and systems design.
• Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development and Software Development, with a focus on scalable, secure web applications.
• Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) using modern languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Node.js, or similar).
• Experience leading engineering projects, conducting code reviews, and mentoring other developers.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and automated testing practices.
• Ability to work on-site in Webster, TX, collaborate across cross-functional teams, and communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
