Job summary

Dematic seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead design and deployment of advanced software for material handling systems. You will architect scalable solutions and mentor junior engineers in Linux-based environments, collaborating with product teams to shape roadmaps.

You will drive code quality, perform reviews, and stay ahead of emerging tech to deliver reliable automation software for warehouse operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong expertise in C, C++, and JavaScript within Linux (RHEL) server environments.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
• Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Proficiency in Git version control.
• Strong background in database design and management (Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Strong verbal and written collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of software applications for material handling systems.
• Architect scalable, high-performance software that integrates with WCS, WIS, and WMS.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define requirements and roadmaps.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and ensure software quality.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance applications for reliability and scalability.
• Ensure robust documentation including architecture diagrams and specs.
• Stay current with emerging technologies to drive automation innovations.
