Job summary

Thazen, LLC is seeking an experienced Software Engineer Lead in Orlando to provide technical leadership and hands-on engineering for complex software and simulation systems. You will drive architecture, design, and implementation, while guiding teams of software engineers through full development lifecycles.

The role blends technical decision-making with team leadership and stakeholder collaboration to meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives across Linux/Windows environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• 10+ years of software development experience.
• Experience in Linux and/or Windows environments.
• Expert knowledge of programming languages.
• Expert knowledge of software architectures and design methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of domain-specific technologies and engineering concepts.
• Experience using Configuration Management tools and processes.
• Experience delivering software to defined requirements and synthesizing requirements into solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership to software teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, integration, and modification of code branches within a larger software solution.
• Provide technical leadership for teams of 2-10 Software Engineers.
• Make technical decisions on architecture, design, interfaces, and development methodologies.
• Assign tasks, monitor progress, and address schedule/cost/technical issues.
• Lead design and code reviews and ensure issues are dispositioned.
• Ensure engineering standards, policies, and processes are followed.
• Provide project status, progress, and estimates to Project Manager.
• Train and integrate new engineers and mentor current team members.
• Support proposals by developing technical designs and estimates.
• Design and develop new software components and systems.
