Job summary

Emerald Queen Casino seeks a Lead Soft Count Clerk to oversee the soft count room and staff in the supervisor’s absence. You will count and record drop boxes, supervise sorting of chips and currency, and ensure accurate posting of the Games summary sheet.

You will prepare cash and chips for transfer to the cage and handle other duties as assigned by the department manager. Starting wage is $24.43/hr increasing to $25.01/hr after 90 days.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One year of prior soft count experience required.
• Six months of supervisory experience required.
• Ten-key experience preferred.

Job description

The Lead Soft Count Clerk is responsible for overseeing the operation of the soft count room and staff in the absence of the Soft Count Supervisor. Additional duties include performing count and accurate recording of drop boxes while adhering to department policies and procedures, oversees the sorting and counting of chips and currency in drop boxes and strapping of currency. Ensures clear and accurate posting of Games summary sheet, oversees the preparation of the cash and chips to transfer to the cage. Performs additional job duties as assigned by the department manager.

Starting wage is $24.43/hr increasing to $25.01/hr at successful completion of 90-day orientation period. This full-time position features excellent employer-paid medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits.

Education:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent is required
• Some college with emphasis in accounting or business management (preferred)

Experience & Requirements:

• One year of prior soft count experience is required
• Six months of supervisory experience
• Ten-key experience (preferred)

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for longer than 8 hours
• Must have good manual and finger dexterity
• Must be able to bend, reach, lift, squat and lift up to 25 pounds
• Mobility to climb stairs on a routine basis
• Must be able to tolerate a smoke filled environment

Additional Requirements:

• Must be able to work all scheduled shifts to include day, swing, graveyard and holidays
