Job summary

Southwind Construction LLC is seeking a Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) in Lawton, OK to oversee safety and environmental protection on assigned construction projects. You will implement project safety programs, enforce EM 385-1-1 and OSHA regulations, and promote a culture of safety on site.

Qualifications

• Five years of construction safety experience.
• U.S. Corps of Engineers experience required.
• Knowledge of EM 385-1-1, OSHA 29 CFR 1926, and safety best practices.
• Ability to interpret safety regulations and technical documents.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to conduct site inspections in active construction environments.
• Background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce the Accident Prevention Plan (APP) on the project.
• Conduct daily safety inspections and document findings.
• Prepare and maintain Daily Safety Reports and logs.
• Provide site safety orientations and toolbox talks.
• Coordinate with project team and Government representatives on safety matters.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Ensure permits and regulatory compliance for activities.
