Job summary

Palmetto Site Construction is seeking a Foreman/Heavy Equipment Operator to lead field crews on residential, commercial, and industrial sitework projects.

This full-time, on-site role requires strong leadership, advanced heavy equipment operation skills, and the ability to read civil plans and set grades accurately. The ideal candidate will work with crews to ensure efficient, high-quality completion and stay local to home every night.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of sitework and equipment operation experience.
• Ability to read civil plans and calculate grades.
• Finish grading with heavy equipment.
• GPS/base/rover experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and team mentoring abilities.
• CEPSC certification is a plus (not required).
• Reliable and able to work Monday–Friday, with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, skid steers, and loaders.
• Perform finish grading (not just rough grade).
• Read and interpret civil construction plans.
• Set up and shoot grades accurately, including base and rover work.
• Utilize GPS systems on equipment; GPS dozer experience is a plus.
• Lead field crews and mentor junior team members.
• Collaborate with supervisors and project managers to maintain schedules and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site.
