Job summary

Delaware Valley Excavation seeks an experienced Site Foreman to oversee daily field operations on excavation and site development projects. You will coordinate crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient work aligned with plans and specs.

The role requires strong field leadership, knowledge of site work, and clear communication with project managers, superintendents, customers, and crew members to meet tight schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading field crews on excavation or site development projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, and scopes of work.
• Strong knowledge of site work, grading, drainage, utilities, and earthwork operations.
• Proven track record of maintaining safety and quality on busy jobsites.
• Excellent communication and coordination with project teams and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise field crews performing excavation and site development work.
• Coordinate daily jobsite activities, manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Review project plans, specifications, scopes of work, and daily priorities with the project team.
• Plan and communicate daily work assignments to field personnel.
• Ensure work is completed according to project plans, specifications, quality standards, and schedules.
• Monitor job progress and communicate production, scheduling concerns, delays, or field issues to the Project Manager and/or Superintendent.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive jobsite.
• Conduct daily safety discussions and enforce company safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure employees properly use required PPE and follow safe operating practices.
• Coordinate equipment utilization and identify equipment or maintenance needs.
• Verify materials and deliveries are appropriate for scheduled work.
• Assist with layout, elevations, grades, and interpretation of construction plans as needed.
• Oversee excavation, grading, backfilling, site preparation, drainage, utility, and related site work activities.
• Complete required daily documentation, including production reports, timekeeping, equipment usage, and jobsite records.
• Monitor employee performance and provide direction, coaching, and training to field personnel.
• Communicate professionally with customers, inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
• Identify potential project issues early and work with management to develop practical solutions.
• Protect company equipment, materials, and other assets assigned to the project.
• Perform additional duties as required to support successful project completion.
