Job summary

Oculus Group is seeking a senior site-based professional to lead a team of engineers on a major construction project in Texas. You will supervise site delivery, ensure quality standards, and work directly with the client while coordinating with the wider project team.

You will remain hands-on in the field, perform quality inspections, and utilize advanced digital construction technologies. Training will be provided for the specific tech used.

• Review quality issues with the project team and drive resolution.
• Attend coordination meetings with the client and report progress.
• Coach junior engineers and maintain site standards.
• Identify risks or blockers and escalate as needed.
• Act as a key link between site, engineering team and client.

Job description

This is a senior site-based position for an experienced construction professional who is comfortable taking responsibility for people, quality and day-to-day site delivery.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience on large-scale or complex construction projects, including those from site engineering, field engineering, surveying, construction engineering or similar backgrounds.

You should be confident reading construction drawings, coordinating with site teams and communicating directly with clients. Experience with digital construction technology is valuable, but you don't need to know the specific technology used in this role — full training will be provided.

The Opportunity

You'll take a leading role on a major construction project, coordinating a small team of engineers while working directly with the client and wider project team.

Alongside leading the team, you'll remain hands-on in the field — monitoring progress, carrying out quality inspections and using advanced digital technology to capture accurate project information.

What We're Looking For

• Experience working on large-scale or complex construction projects.
• Previous experience leading, supervising or coordinating engineers or other site personnel.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings and site workflows.
• Background in site engineering, field engineering, surveying, construction engineering or a related discipline.
• Confident communicating with contractors, engineers, project managers and client stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Comfortable adopting new digital tools, 3D technology and technology-led workflows.

Experience with BIM, surveying, reality capture or other digital construction technologies is advantageous, Training will be provided on the tech we use.
