Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS), a division of Amphenol Corporation, is seeking a Principal Signal Integrity Engineer to lead high-speed copper-based I/O cable assembly design for datacenter, cloud, 5G, storage and enterprise applications up to 224 Gbps per lane.

You will design, simulate, characterize, and mentor; lead major projects; collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams; set up SI lab in the west coast; travel 10–20% to Nashua; support customers and factories.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering; MS/PhD strongly preferred.
• Deep understanding of electromagnetic principles for digital signal integrity.
• Experience with SI/EM simulation tools such as Ansys HFSS and Designer, CST Microwave.
• Experience with SI measurements and debugging using TDR, VNA, pattern generators, error detectors, and similar equipment.
• Hands-on experience with frequency- and time-domain component and circuit characterization.
• Experience in design and application of high-speed cables/connectors for communications equipment is a plus.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, ADS, and HSPICE is a plus.
• Proven track record of leading SI development for advanced cable or connector products.
• Ability to drive architecture, influence material and process selection, and provide senior technical direction across programs.
• Strong ability to independently lead SI investigations and multi-site collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulation, characterization, and application of high-speed electrical cable assemblies.
• Provide SI technical leadership, own major engineering projects, and mentor new SI hires.
• Work with the west coast office for lab measurements, validation, and debugging; help set up the local SI lab.
• Component development and customer support during new product introduction.
• Share knowledge and pursue continuous improvement in methods and workflows.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on next-generation high-speed I/O interconnects.
• Engage with customers to debug SI issues and answer high-level technical questions.
• Own project execution and drive progress across functions; support sales strategies for product break-in.
