Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine R&D in Titusville, NJ; Raritan, NJ; or Horsham, PA is seeking an Associate Director, Signal Detection Scientist in a hybrid role. You will lead implementation of aggregate surveillance strategies for proactive detection of safety signals from post-marketing data.

You will develop surveillance plans, perform post-marketing signal detection activities, and guide data sources and analyses. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field is required.
• Advanced degree (Master’s, BSN, PharmD) preferred.
• 3 years of industry experience in pharmacovigilance/drug safety required.
• 1 year of clinical/patient-care experience preferred.
• Knowledge of global health authority regulations for adverse events.
• Experience with MS Excel is required.
• SAS JMP or similar platforms preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to lead projects.
• Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess new safety signals via systematic reviews of aggregate data.
• Prepare reviews and summary analyses of safety data.
• Provide recommendations for further signal evaluation.
• Collaborate with Medical Safety Officers, Safety Scientists, and Safety Physicians.
• Participate in matrix teams to address product-specific safety issues.
• Communicate findings from routine and ad hoc signal detection activities.
• Assist in programmatic surveillance of adverse event reports for safety issues.
• Evaluate novel tools and data sources for signal detection.
