Job summary

Creative Technology Group is seeking a Lead Shop Technician Video Engineer to prep and test professional broadcast equipment for live events. You will ensure gear is verified, configured, and ready for showtime, supporting cameras, routing, and recording systems.

You will work with a team to perform quality control, firmware updates, and equipment resets, while maintaining thorough records and collaborating with engineering, project management, and warehouse teams.

Qualifications

  • Three years of experience in live events, broadcast, AV, or related technical environments.
  • Experience testing configuring, troubleshooting, and preparing professional video equipment.
  • Strong understanding of video signal flow, routing, synchronization, and equipment faults.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control inspections and functional testing of professional video and broadcast equipment.
  • Prepare, configure, test, and package equipment for productions and rental orders.
  • Build and test Ross Ultrix fly packs and routing systems.
  • Test cameras, lenses, viewfinders, recorders, and accessories.
  • Verify video signal paths and distribution systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and identify root causes before shipping.
  • Update firmware, apply configuration changes, and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain equipment records and quality control documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, operations, and warehouse teams.
  • Support staging, inventory audits, transfers, and show preparations.

What Youll Do

As part of our warehouse technical team youll play a key role in maintaining and preparing our extensive inventory of professional video equipment Youll be responsible for ensuring everything from cameras to routing systems meets our quality standards before heading to a project

  • Performing quality control inspections and functional testing of professional video and broadcast equipment
  • Preparing configuring testing and packaging equipment for upcoming productions and rental orders
  • Building and testing Ross Ultrix fly packs and routing systems
  • Testing broadcast and cinema camera packages including cameras lenses viewfinders recorders and accessories
  • Verifying video signal paths signal routing conversion monitoring and distribution systems
  • Troubleshooting equipment issues and identifying root causes before equipment leaves the warehouse
  • Performing firmware updates configuration changes preventative maintenance and equipment resets
  • Verifying equipment against pull sheets and project requirements to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Maintaining detailed equipment records and quality control documentation
  • Working closely with engineering project management operations and warehouse teams
  • Supporting equipment staging inventory audits transfers and show preparation activities

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree in Broadcast Technology Electronics Engineering Technology Audio Visual Technology or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of three years of experience in live events broadcast AV entertainment production rental operations or a related technical environment
  • Experience testing configuring troubleshooting and preparing professional video equipment
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to regularly lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand walk bend kneel and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday
  • Ability to inspect test troubleshoot and repair technical equipment
  • Ability to work in warehouse shop staging and event production environments
  • Flexibility to work evenings weekends and overtime when business needs require
