United Rentals (N A) is seeking a Shop Foreman in Michigan to lead Service Technicians and oversee maintenance of rental equipment. You will collaborate with the Service/Branch Manager to maximize productivity, improve efficiency, and ensure high-quality repairs.

Excellence in leadership, service, and maintenance knowledge can pave the way to advancement into a Service Manager role. The position emphasizes safety, documentation, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; trade-school degree is a plus.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills for a variety of systems.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the activities of Service Technicians.
• Train and supervise mechanical personnel when necessary.
• Responsible for safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment.
• Diagnose and supervise repair of equipment to ensure work is performed efficiently.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders).
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment when required.
