Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Shop Foreman to lead maintenance efforts for a growing location. You will guide Service Technicians, ensure proper use of equipment and materials, and drive efficiency and customer satisfaction while maintaining a safe, productive operation.

In this role you will work with the Service/Branch Manager, applying your leadership and maintenance expertise to build a profitable site and pave the way for advancement into a Service Manager position.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Owns tools applicable to the position.
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with schematics understanding.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills.
• High school diploma; trade school degree is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the activities of Service Technicians.
• Train and supervise mechanical personnel when necessary.
• Responsible for safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment.
• Diagnose and supervise repair of equipment to ensure efficiency.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation (work orders) daily.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Perform other duties as needed.
