Job summary

The State of Ohio's Rehabilitation & Correction - Pickaway Correctional Institution is seeking a Sheet Metal Worker 2 to join a specialized maintenance team in Orient, OH. As lead worker, you will guide lower-level workers, fabricate sheet metal components, and perform skilled repairs across roofs, ducts, and metal structures.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, planning jobs, estimating time, managing tools, and ensuring compliance with security regulations in a correctional facility

Qualifications

• 18 months training or 18 months verifiable sheet metal work experience under supervision; arithmetic includes fractions & percentages; reading & writing basic English.
• Or 6 months experience as Sheet Metal Worker 1, 52271.
• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
• Job Skills: Trades, General Maintenance, Building Maintenance, Problem Solving, Flexibility, Time Management.

Responsibilities

• Lead lower-level sheet metal workers and trainees.
• Repair roofs, gutters, downspouts and flashings.
• Fabricate sheet metal products and inspect completed work.
• Weld metal and install metal fixtures and furniture.
• Read blueprints and schematic diagrams.
• Maintain tools and inventories and keep records.
