Mark-Taylor is hiring a Lead Service Technician for The Art on Highland in Phoenix, AZ. You will perform maintenance repairs, ensure make-ready units meet Mark-Taylor standards, and contribute to exceptional resident service.

Experience in apartment maintenance and EPA/HVAC/CPO certifications is preferred. This on-site role offers a base pay around $26/hour with a $3/hour on-call incentive and additional pay for earned certifications, plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as an apartment maintenance/turn technician or similar role.
• Industry certifications (EPA, HVAC, CPO or similar) required or highly desirable.
• Strong service orientation and basic English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in completing make-ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintain inventory of supplies.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliance issues; minor carpentry and drywall work.
• Perform routine pool care and ensure safety and chemical balance.
• Carry out minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and key cutting tasks.
• Inspect for safety hazards and report to Facilities/Service manager; participate in on-call rotations.
• Monitor parts inventory and mentor junior Service/Facilities Technicians.

Compensation:

• The anticipated base pay range for this position is $26.00/hour.
• All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call.
• Additional hourly pay for EPA, CPO, and OSHA certifications***

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge in the following areas: Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA-related standards
• One or more industry specific professional certifications (EPA, HVAC, CPO, or similar).
• Service orientation.
• Basic computer skills.
• 2 or more years experience working as an apartment turn technician, maintenance technician. make ready technician, or work order technician is highly desirable.
• A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

In This Role You Will

• Assist in the completion of make ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintains adequate supply of make-ready units for the Community.
• Trouble-shoot, diagnose and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
• Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
• Perform daily pool care, assures pool is in proper chemical balance and area is free of safety concerns.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys
• Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and corrects the hazard to inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.
• Share on-call duty with Manager of Facilities and Service, and service team members and is readily available to go the property if needed and in uniform/badge.
• Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
• Train and mentor other Service Technician and Facilities Technicians
