Mark-Taylor, Inc. is hiring a Lead Service Technician in Phoenix, AZ to keep our apartment communities running smoothly. The role focuses on maintenance repairs, make-readies, and five-star service that makes communities feel like home.

You will handle plumbing, electrical, pool maintenance, HVAC, carpentry, and landscape tasks with OSHA standards in mind, and you may mentor junior technicians. This full-time position offers benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as apartment maintenance/turn technician or similar.
• Basic English communication skills.
• Willingness to be on-call.
• Certifications such as EPA, HVAC, CPO preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make-ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintain supply for the community.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, and drywall.
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on vacant units.
• Provide daily pool care and maintain chemical balance and safety.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys.
• Inspect property for hazards and report to the Manager of Facilities & Service.
• Share on-call duty with the Manager and team and stay in uniform.
• Monitor inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.

Compensation

• The anticipated base pay range for this position is $26.00/hour.
• All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call.
• Additional hourly pay for EPA, CPO, and OSHA certifications***

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge in the following areas: Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA-related standards
• One or more industry specific professional certifications (EPA, HVAC, CPO, or similar).
• Service orientation.
• Basic computer skills.
• 2 or more years experience working as an apartment turn technician, maintenance technician. make ready technician, or work order technician is highly desirable.
• A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

In This Role You Will

• Assist in the completion of make ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintains adequate supply of make-ready units for the Community.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
• Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
• Perform daily pool care, assures pool is in proper chemical balance and area is free of safety concerns.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys
• Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and corrects the hazard to inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.
• Share on-call duty with Manager of Facilities and Service, and service team members and is readily available to go the property if needed and in uniform/badge.
• Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
• Train and mentor other Service Technician and Facilities Technicians
