As a Lead Service Technician, you will work at one of our beautiful communities and represent Mark-Taylor through the delivery of exceptional customer service while contributing to the upkeep of the physical asset and community grounds.

You're Excited About This Role Because You Will:

  • Assist in the completion of make-ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintain an adequate supply of make-ready units for the community.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
  • Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
  • Perform daily pool care, ensure the pool is in proper chemical balance, and the area is free of safety concerns.
  • Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys.
  • Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and correct the hazard; inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.
  • Share on-call duty with the Manager of Facilities and Service, and service team members; be readily available to go to the property if needed and in uniform/badge.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
  • Train and mentor other Service Technicians and Facilities Technicians.

  • Advanced knowledge in Plumbing, Electrical, Pool Maintenance, HVAC, Carpentry, Landscape Maintenance, Appliances, and OSHA-related standards.
  • One or more industry-specific professional certifications (EPA, HVAC, CPO, or similar).
  • Service orientation.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • 2 or more years of experience working as an apartment turn technician, maintenance technician, make-ready technician, or work order technician is highly desirable.
  • A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

The starting hourly pay range for Lead Service Technicians is $26.00, commensurate with experience and dependent on the specific community's level of complexity. Our Lead Service Technicians typically work a schedule that includes one or more weekend days. Our Service Team members participate in a rotating on-call schedule with additional shift differential pay.
