Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Hardware Engineering seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer – Server Hardware Validation, on-site in Burlington, MA. You will lead validation across NPI and production, qualifying components and driving root-cause resolution with suppliers and manufacturing.

The role requires deep cross-functional collaboration with firmware, software, operating system, and diagnostics teams to implement effective corrective actions and ensure reliability of Oracle’s server

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 7+ years of relevant experience (or 11+ years without degree).
• Strong systems-level electrical hardware background with validation/troubleshooting experience.
• Proven ability to lead hardware validation/qualification initiatives.
• Hands-on proficiency with high-speed oscilloscopes and lab instruments.
• Strong knowledge of signal integrity concepts (timing, jitter, noise, freq-domain).
• Ability to debug complex hardware issues via schematics, measurements, data, and RCCA.
• Excellent written/verbal communication; able to document complex findings.
• Technical leadership and mentoring abilities for validation/debug teams.

Responsabilidades

• Lead system- and subsystem-level electrical validation for server hardware across NPI and sustaining activities.
• Develop validation strategies, test plans, coverage, procedures, and reports for complex changes.
• Perform hands-on hardware troubleshooting and RCCA for diverse failure modes.
• Collaborate with firmware, software, OS, diagnostics, field service, and manufacturing to isolate issues and determine root cause.
• Drive corrective actions from investigation through implementation and validation.
• Lead qualification of alternate-source components and AVL/end-of-life activities to maintain manufacturing continuity.
• Review schematics, PCB layouts, and documentation as part of validation and investigations.
• Document specifications, validation plans, results, and engineering decisions.
• Provide validation-driven feedback to improve product quality and manufacturability.
