Job summary

Discovery Land Company’s Troubadour Golf & Field Club outside Nashville is seeking a Lead Server to lead dining room service, greet guests, and partner with leadership to deliver exceptional experiences. You will oversee staff, train on SOPs, and ensure seamless beverage service and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of bartending experience in luxury settings.
  • HACCP and local food safety knowledge; State Food Safety Certificate preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of wines and beverages.
  • Excellent attention to detail and service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee dining room service staff to ensure exceptional service and clear communication.
  • Greet guests and anticipate needs to enhance the experience with urgency.
  • Collaborate with F&B leadership to create outstanding beverage experiences.
  • Train staff on SOPs including drinks, food handling, POS, and bar setup.
  • Present extensive knowledge of menu items and make wine pairings.
  • Ensure knowledge of specials, allergies, and special requests.
  • Process transactions in POS and close sales per policy.
  • Maintain clean, organized dining areas and prep for opening/closing.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job description

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Troubadour Golf & Field Club, set outside of Nashville, Tennessee.

Troubadour Golf & Field Club is seeking a Lead Server to join the Food and Beverage Service Department.

The Lead Server serves as the team leader for the service staff and leads by example in excellent customer service, extensive knowledge of food and beverage pairings. The Lead Server partners with Food and Beverage Leadership to oversee efficient operations of dining locations and in this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee dining room service staff to ensure staff provides exceptional service and communication at all times with members / guests and team members.
  • Greet all guests and members politely and promptly, proactively anticipate needs to enhance experience, demonstrate sense of urgency for responding to guest needs during all interactions.
  • Partner with Food & Beverage and Culinary Leadership to create beverage an outstanding experiences for members and guests.
  • Supervise and train service staff on on SOPs of the Food & Beverage operation, including preparing and delivering drinks, handling food, entering orders into the POS, and bar set up and break down.
  • Present extensive knowledge of all bar menu items and ingredients, make recommendations based upon preferences or food pairings, including wine knowledge.
  • Thorough understanding of all menu items and daily specials, be attentive to food allergies and special menu requests.
  • Enter all transactions accordingly into POS system, issue accurate checks, and close sales timely and according to policies and procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room and storage areas at all times, complete daily stocking and opening / closing procedures, monitor expiration of perishable items, and adhere to food safety standards.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven leadership skills in Food and Beverage operations at a high end or luxury resort, restaurant, or private club.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of previous bartending experience, preferably in a fast paced, luxury restaurant, resort, or private club.
  • Knowledge of HACCP & local food safety standards; possesses or can obtain State Food Safety Certificate.
  • Robust knowledgeable of wines and beverage.
  • A passion for trends within the liquor community and think creatively about new drinks or menu items the bar may develop.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail, quality and service.
Additional Requirements
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
