Job summary

The City of Riverside, Public Utilities Department is seeking a Senior Water Engineer - One Stop Shop to lead design, investigation, and construction of water utility projects in the Water Engineering - Development Services Division. The position may involve supervising staff and guiding major projects with significant public impact.

Qualified candidates will have a California PE license, a civil or mechanical engineering degree, and at least five years of professional water engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Registration in California as a Professional Engineer is required for the Senior Engineer class.
• Five (5) years' experience performing professional water engineering work comparable to Utilities Assistant/Utilities Associate Engineer in the City of Riverside.

Responsibilities

• Performs studies of technical, environmental, and economic feasibility and related studies for municipal facilities.
• Prepares contracts and specifications for engineering and construction services.
• Plans and performs own work and completes special projects requiring engineering ability.
• Develops and updates engineering directives, material lists, specifications and procedures.
• Develops major engineering projects with important public works impact.
• Plans own work and supervises others; works with less experienced staff in advisory/supervisory capacity.
