Job summary

Castelion is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to lead testing activities for solid rocket motors and integrated hypersonic systems. You will develop, execute, and optimize test plans for static fires, environmental tests, and vehicle-level integration, while ensuring safety and data quality across programs.

Collaborate with propulsion, manufacturing, and design teams to mature hardware from prototype to production, and mentor junior engineers in a fast-paced defense environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or systems engineering.
• 5+ years of engineering test experience for solid rocket motors.
• Master’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or systems engineering preferred.
• Experience with test instrumentation and data acquisition is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of test plans for SRM static fires and environmental testing.
• Design and operate test fixtures and data acquisition setups.
• Execute static fire tests and qualification testing with safe operations of energetic materials.
• Monitor tests, analyze data, and lead root-cause investigations.
• Support flight test campaigns including pre-flight checks and telemetry monitoring.
• Advance test processes, safety protocols, and automation for data capture.
