Job summary

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience preparing/reviewing state income tax returns
• Recent 4+ years experience in Big Four or large public accounting firm
• Proficiency with corporate tax software platforms (OneSource, Corptax, Oracle TRCS)
• Strong research skills in state tax
• Experience with state tax audits
• Effective communication with peers, customers, and managers
• Ability to lead cross-functional projects and drive process improvements

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review state corporate income/franchise tax returns, extensions, and estimates
• Perform apportionment analysis and support key systems (CorpTax, OneSource, Oracle TRCS)
• Oversee gathering information for state tax notices and respond
• Prepare state tax models reflecting regulatory changes
• Support digital transformation and data migration efforts
• Lead and defend state income tax audits
• Support SOX internal controls processes
• Conduct daily state tax research on changing rules
• Maintain the state tax compliance calendar
• Assist with improvements in state tax processes and train staff
