Job description

As a member of the Promotion & Design Services Group [P&DSG], the Lead Senior Promotion Specialist supports the global activity of The First Church of Christ, Scientist [TFCCS] and of the Christian Science Publishing Society [CSPS].

This position offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that will advance the vision of The First Church of Christ, Scientist through an understanding of the customers' usage of its core product and the promotional efforts to acquire and retain customers. We’re looking to unlock the organization’s ability to communicate with quality and consistency as “one church” via this role and the individual’s capability to operate and excel at the strategic and tactical level.

P&DSG is a service-based group that shapes and guides, from a metaphysical foundation, the promotion and extension of products, services, and events that constitute the “healing and saving” resources of The Mother Church (see Manual of The Mother Church, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 19:1).

The digital promotions group provides client departments with strategic, tactical, and analytical services that enhance the customer experience and increase product usage, engagement, and subscriptions as part of the P&DSG center of excellence. The digital promotions center of excellence includes but is not limited to the principles and guidelines for the following: data management, email programs, promotion efforts, and promotion strategy. P&DSG helps clients to meet the customer’s needs through promotion of its content, digital products, and/ or services. Providing promotional expertise and leadership helps enhance the customer experience as the first step in removing barriers to discoverability, access, and engagement. To support this strategy P&DSG provides promotional expertise at every stage of the promotional experience.

Aligned with the mission of P&DSG and under the direction of the Head of Promotions and Analytics:

The Lead Senior Promotion Specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining essential and actionable onsite and offsite promotions for internal clients that enhance and improve the customer experience. This role manages the Customer Data Platform (CDP) tool, currently BlueConic, which enables effective promotion to specific audience groups. This position will communicate recommendations and results to Product Owners, team members, and CSPS / Church leadership in an actionable way - currently through client-specific and client-approved Quarterly Promotion Plans.

As a Lead Senior Promotion Specialist, the role will primarily be fulfilled as a Subject Matter Expert [SME] in promotions for the rest of the organization. While not a CFT member in other areas, this position supports the CSPS / Church Product Owners and Client Department Managers who prioritize the product, editorial, mission activity, and promotions work for their specific product. The position will help define, develop, implement, troubleshoot, manage, and oversee the promotional campaigns of The First Church of Christ Scientist. This also includes overseeing the organization’s promotional relationships with vendors with a primary focus on streamlining our promotional efforts to serve multiple clients.
