Job summary
Washington County in West Bend, Wisconsin, seeks a Senior Municipal Planner to lead advanced planning, master plans, and development code amendments. You will collaborate with county staff, municipal leaders, and elected officials to design and implement long-range plans across natural resources, land use, transportation and facilities.
Qualified candidates have a bachelor’s (master’s preferred) in planning or related field, with at least six years of experience in municipal planning and public
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in urban or regional planning or closely related field.
- Minimum six years of professional planning, zoning, public engagement and research experience.
- AICP is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement long-range and strategic plans for natural resources, land use, transportation and facilities.
- Oversee complex development projects, master plans and development code amendments.
- Advise municipalities on planning, zoning and related issues.
- Prepare reports for Plan Commissions, boards and councils; present findings.
- Coordinate with GIS staff and monitor related legislation.
