Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. seeks a senior civil litigation attorney with 5–7 years of civil litigation experience to manage state-specific workflows and supervise teams.

You will conduct document review, oversee filings, coordinate with the Managing Attorney and clients, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with laws governing debt collection. Pasadena-based position with leadership responsibility.

Qualifications

• Active law license in California.
• 5–7 years of civil litigation experience; debt collection preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in a leadership role.
• Demonstrated case analysis ability and track record of proven settlement skills.
• Demonstrated ability to teach, train, coach, and mentor.
• Proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Proficient in internet and online research.

Responsibilities

• Manage state-specific litigation workflows and litigation forms.
• Conduct document review and discovery.
• Execute documents requiring the Attorney’s signature.
• Communicate with the Managing Attorney and clients to discuss details of cases.

• Work with Pro Se litigants, opposing counsel, or other interested parties to settle files throughout the litigation process.
• Oversee and interact with outside collections and defense counsel.
• Support corporate compliance with laws and regulations governing debt collection and related activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active law license in the listed state of reference. (California)
• 5-7 years of civil litigation experience; debt collection experience strongly preferred
• Minimum 2 years in a leadership role
• Demonstrated case analysis ability and a track record of proven settlement skills
• Demonstrated ability to teach, train, coach, and mentor
• Proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Proficient in internet and online research
• Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, printer, scanner, and computer
• Effective oral and written communication skills with knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation usage
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
