Job summary

Software Placement Group (SPG) seeks a Lead/Senior Attorney to guide its litigation team through debt-collection matters, from case analysis and discovery to settlement and compliance.

Based in Pasadena, CA, this on-site role requires CA licensure, 5-7 years civil litigation, and leadership experience. You will manage workflows, supervise outside counsel, and mentor staff while ensuring regulatory compliance across all filings.

Qualifications

• Active law license in California.
• 5-7 years of civil litigation experience.
• Minimum 2 years in a leadership role.
• Proven case analysis ability and a track record of proven settlement skills.
• Demonstrated ability to teach, train, coach, and mentor.
• Proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Proficient in internet and online research.
• Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, printer, scanner, and computer.
• Effective oral and written communication skills with knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation usage.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills with an eye for details.
• Ability to be flexible to adapt and act quickly when urgent matters require it.
• Ability to work and maintain patience with diversified individuals of various ethnic backgrounds and professional competencies.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Manage state-specific litigation workflows and litigation forms.
• Conduct document review and discovery.
• Execute documents requiring the Attorney's signature.
• Communicate with the Managing Attorney and clients to discuss case details.
• Assist in responding to litigation-specific components of client audits.
• Monitor relevant legal rules, regulations, statutes, and case law.
• Conduct research and analysis of legal problems.
• Analyze probable case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedents.
• Prepare and file legal documents.
• Manage and resolve collection litigation.
• Work with Pro Se litigants, opposing counsel, or other interested parties to settle files throughout the litigation process.
• Oversee and interact with outside collections and defense counsel.
• Support corporate compliance with laws and regulations governing debt collection and related activities.

Compensation and benefits
