Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Principal Security Software Engineer to influence security across Starlink product lines. You will design cryptographic services, security features for Starlink hardware, and secure factory processes while supporting production systems and incident response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or STEM with 8+ years in security software development; or 10+ years without degree.
• Experience with Python, C++, or Golang.
• Experience designing security for OS, distributed systems, or large-scale infra.

Responsibilities

• Design and build security infrastructure for Starlink, incl. cryptographic services.
• Develop security features for Starlink systems (router, dish, gateways, satellites).
• Design security into factory processes and provide network services.
• Maintain production systems and improve security posture.
• Build prototypes and test security improvements.
• Advance secure and reliable Internet for underserved communities.
