Job summary

Fairmont Austin is seeking a security officer to protect guests and property while delivering luxury service. You will monitor premises, handle incidents, and work with colleagues to ensure a safe environment.

Qualifications include first aid/CPR, security systems knowledge, and the ability to stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced hotel setting. Training will be provided on site.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-the-job training for new security officers.
• Monitor the physical appearance of security staff.
• Monitor hotel premises for security breaches or suspicious activity.
• Conduct regular patrols of the property to ensure safety and security.
• Respond promptly to guest inquiries or reports of incidents.
• Assist in emergency response situations, such as fires or medical emergencies.
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies and procedures concerning safety.
• Document incidents and prepare reports for management review.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement as needed during incidents.
• Perform access control and monitor guest and staff entries.
• Evaluate and resolve conflicts or disturbances among guests.
• Provide exceptional customer service while ensuring safety.
• Maintain surveillance footage and other security documentation.
• Conduct security training for staff members.
• Assist in the investigation of theft or property damage.
• Respond to alarms and monitor security systems.

Physical Demands

This position requires:

• Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
• Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. or more
• Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
• Ability to work rotating shifts, and call back hours when required
