U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command is seeking qualified personnel to manage access control, supervise guard coverage, and maintain desk control duties on the installation.

The role requires strict adherence to security protocols and the ability to produce daily employee reports for supervisors. Candidates must meet extensive suitability requirements, be qualified in chemical irritants, obtain secret clearance, and comply with AR 190-56.

Requirements
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be qualified and certified in the use of chemical aerosol irritants.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must qualify and remain qualified for the Individual Reliability Program (IRP), IAW AR 190-56.
  • Must pass initial drug test and subject to random drug testing.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts, overtime and weekends, as required.
  • Must pass initial and semi-annual specialized weapons qualifications.
  • Must pass initial and annual medical examination, emotional and mental stability which includes physical agility/ability test, IAW AR 190-56.
  • Must complete initial and annual CPR and First-Aid requirements.
  • Must meet annual training, re-certification and mandatory requirements of AR 190-56.
  • Must meet the requirements under the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
  • Must possess a valid, state-issued motor vehicle license (loss of license may result in removal from the position).
  • Must be able to wear chemical-protection equipment, as required.
  • Occasional traveling may be require to attend workshops, training, or seminars.
  • Must successfully complete periodic physical test requirements.
  • This is a Mission Essential position and must be maintained during an emergency or crisis to ensure the continuity of critical operations.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

In order to qualify, you must meet the Specialized Experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience performing the following duties 1) Instructing security personnel on specific access control operational tasks and job techniques; 2) Reviewing identification cards, badges or passes to allow access to a secured area; 3) Protecting the health, safety, privacy or best interest of the public, staff or others who may be at risk; and 4) Preparing daily reports, journals, logs or records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
