Job summary

Thomson Reuters in the United States seeks a Lead Security Engineer to set the technical direction for security across application, cloud, and infrastructure, including on‑prem data centers and major clouds.

You will design new security processes, manage patching cycles, and partner with Information Security, Platform Engineering, and application teams to raise our security posture.

This is a senior IC role with global impact.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands‑on experience in security engineering, vulnerability management, or cloud and infrastructure security.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Understanding of security principles across application, cloud, and infrastructure layers.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead for security across application, cloud, and infrastructure.
• Design and build security controls across OS, containers, CI/CD, cloud configuration, and network boundaries.
• Revamp patching cycles and golden‑image refreshes to move fast without sacrificing safety.
• Identify improvements, propose standards, and turn them into team practices.
• Set the technical approach across the full security scope and prioritize by risk.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with regional security teams to align priorities.
