Job description

You will serve as the Visitor Control Center Lead Security Assistant (Office Automation) within NSA BETHESDA SECURITY DETACHMENT.

The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

Duties

1. You will oversee preparation of issuing and tracking access badges for Naval Support Activity Bethesda.
2. You will process and adjudicate documents for base access.
3. You will receive calls, greet visitors, and direct to appropriate office or person.
4. You will train and review work of security assistants within the assigned office.
5. You will distribute and balance workload of security assistants, keeping in touch with the status and progress of the work, estimating and reporting on expected time of completion of the work, and providing instructions to other employees.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Overseeing the preparation of issuing and tracking security access badges;
• Training and reviewing work of security assistants within the assigned office;
• Distributing and balancing workload of security assistants, keeping in touch with the status and progress of the work; and
• Verifying eligibility and confirming the need for access badge.
