Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Valid teaching certificate for secondary music.
• Demonstrates skills in teaching vocal technique and choir.
• Experience leading and collaborating with students, parents, teachers, and admins.
• Knowledge of TMEA and UIL rules and procedures.
• Head Director applicants: experience growing a large public school choir.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and retain students in the choir program.
• Teach vocal pedagogy and skills for success at UIL evaluations.
• Prepare students for auditions and competitions (UIL/TMEA).
• Collaborate with Fine Arts staff and vertical teams.
• Mentor assistant directors and manage budget, fundraising, and programs for Head Director.
