Job summary

CPS, Inc. in Zion, IL is seeking an innovative coatings leader responsible for innovation and development of waterborne coatings for OEM and consumer use.

The role emphasizes leading new product development and advancing toward a Technical Leadership position. You will apply expert knowledge in acrylic, epoxy, urethane, and related chemistries, manage cross-functional projects, mentor teams, and drive commercialization from concept to scale-up.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ technical product development experience in coatings.
• At least 4 years of technical supervisory or leadership experience with a diverse workforce.
• M.S. in Chemistry or equivalent; strong knowledge of organic chemistry required.

Responsibilities

• Lead new product development efforts for waterborne coatings across primer, basecoat, and topcoat systems.
• Develop and execute project plans, manage timelines, and allocate resources across R&D teams.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, QA, marketing, and external scientists to commercialize innovations.
• Mentor and lead cross-functional teams; drive continuous learning and process improvements.
