Job summary

Genentech, a member of the Roche group, seeks a Principal Scientist in Translational Medicine Oncology to bridge discovery and clinical development. You will lead biomarker discovery and translational strategy across oncology pipelines, contributing from early research to registrational studies.

Requires a PhD/MD/MD-PhD with strong translational publications and post-graduate experience; expertise in multi-omics and AI-enabled data interpretation is valued.

Qualifications

• PhD/MD/MD-PhD in molecular biology, cancer biology, immunology or related field.
• First-author publications; strong translational research background.
• Post-graduate industry or extended postdoc experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and drive pharmacodynamic biomarker strategies across trials.
• Identify biomarkers of response, resistance, and microenvironment dynamics.
• Leverage multi-omics, spatial biology, and single-cell data with AI tools.
• Author biomarker sections in protocols, submissions, and study reports.
• Collaborate across Research, Clinical Development, and Biostatistics.
• Provide scientific leadership for trial design and execution.
• Engage externally with academia and publish high-impact work.
