Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Principal Scientist in Cambridge, MA to lead computational cancer immunology projects focused on single cell and spatial transcriptomics. Qualifications

• PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, computational cancer immunology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated depth in single cell transcriptomics with independent scRNA-seq analyses.
• Hands-on experience with spatial transcriptomics data from one or more platforms.

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert and hands-on analyst for single cell and spatial transcriptomics data for discovery cancer immunology programs.
• Design and execute end-to-end analyses of scRNA-seq data including cell type/state annotation, differential abundance/expression, and cell-cell communication.
• Analyze spatial transcriptomics data across sequencing- and imaging-based platforms, including deconvolution and spatial niche analysis.
• Integrate single cell/spatial readouts with bulk RNA-seq, proteomics, flow cytometry, genomics, and clinical data to build translational data packages.
• Support target identification through to candidate selection, partnering with program teams on validation and translational hypotheses.
• Shape experimental design with platform/panel selection, sample/cohort composition, controls, and powering.
• Develop and maintain reproducible analysis workflows and contribute to shared codebases and standards.
• Evaluate and extend emerging computational methods in single cell/spatial biology and advocate adoption where beneficial.
• Communicate findings and contribute to scientific reports, patents, and publications; present methods to publishable standards.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior scientists and interns, influencing cross-functional matrix teams.
