Job summary

Lonza in Portsmouth, NH is seeking an Analytical Lead Scientist to join the R&T team. You will lead experimental programs developing PAT for mammalian manufacturing processes, driving innovation and coordinating cross-functional projects to advance process understanding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology or a related scientific discipline.
• Experience working in a biotechnology/biologics/biopharmaceutical lab environment.
• Strong expertise in method development, experimental design, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex scientific projects and work packages from planning through execution.
• Design and implement PAT solutions to improve process understanding and performance.
• Drive improvements in efficiency, quality and scientific outcomes.
• Support technology transfer, scalability, and regulatory compliance activities.
• Mentor scientists and develop technical capabilities across the team.
• Build relationships with internal and external scientific partners.
• Contribute to IP, publications and future technology offerings.
• Lead cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives.
