Job summary

Hollingsworth & Vose seeks a pioneer researcher to identify, investigate, and de-risk platform-level opportunities in porous media, reporting to senior R&D leadership with autonomy. The role focuses on cross-domain literacy, computational fluency, and cross-collaboration to define new product categories.

Responsibilities include formulating hypotheses, designing experiments to de-risk them at TRL 1–3, and engaging with external scientific communities while aligning platform concepts with HV's

Qualifications

• PhD in STEM fields or BS/MS with equivalent experience.
• Track record of originating research and successful commercialization.
• First-author publications or named inventorship.
• 10+ years of product development experience.

Responsibilities

• Scan porous media landscape for convergence zones and white-space opportunities.
• Formulate hypotheses, design experiments, and de-risk them at TRL 1–3 with autonomy.
• Publish, present, and collaborate with external scientific community.
• Apply computational and AI tools to accelerate discovery cycles.
• Communicate findings clearly to senior R&D and executive leadership.
• Identify opportunities to connect platform concepts to existing capabilities and synergies.
• Lead or aid in commercialization of platform concepts.
