Job summary

Axle is seeking a Scientific Project Manager to join the NIH DASW team at NIH/NIAID in Bethesda, MD. This senior role leads data analysis and scientific writing efforts within the VRC CTP DASW program, coordinating activities across clinical, laboratory, regulatory, and operational teams.

You will supervise staff, drive standardization, and ensure timely delivery of scientific analyses and publications, with responsibilities spanning planning, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. required.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Promote quality and consistency across data analysis and scientific writing activities through standardized approaches.
• Maintain an integrated view of DASW projects, milestones and timelines.
• Coordinate DASW activities with clinical, laboratory, statistical, data management and regulatory teams.
• Provide mentorship and training to DASW staff and advisors.
• Lead or participate in development of manuscripts, abstracts and scientific communications.
• Track progress and escalate risks to leadership as needed.
