Overview

Illinois Mathematics & Science Academy (IMSA) is seeking an individual to fill the role of Head Coach for the high school FTC Robotics for the 2026-2027 school year. The position is stipend‑based, determined by experience in coaching/sponsoring and years involved in the activity.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Coordinator of Athletics & Co‑Curriculars to develop a competitive season of matches.
• Collaborate with food‑service staff to provide meals for athletes when off campus.
• Attend practices and matches from the start of the season to potential state finals.
• Coordinate and supervise overnight stays needed for postseason competitions during the state series.
• Transport students to practices and matches throughout the season.

Qualifications

Must pass a background check and possess a valid Illinois driver’s license to operate IMSA vehicles, including a 14‑passenger mini‑bus (no additional tests or endorsements required). Experience in a high‑school coaching/sponsor role or club setting is preferred. Willingness to complete State of Illinois mandated training modules as prescribed by GCN/OneNet is required.
