Job summary

Madison Park Academy Upper Campus Middle-High School in Oakland, California seeks a Nutrition Services Assistant I for a 6-hour shift. Under the supervision of a Nutrition Services Field Supervisor, you will prepare, package and serve foods, perform cashiering duties, and help maintain meal records in accordance with district procedures.

This non-exempt position (0.80 FTE) is 202 days per year as assigned, offering opportunities for internal promotion under the AFSCME bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

• Experience in nutrition services or related food service is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic cashiering and record-keeping practices.
• Ability to work in a school food service environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package and serve foods for meals and ala carte items.
• Perform cashiering duties and handle money accurately.
• Maintain inventories and ensure sanitation and safety standards.
• Assist with training and supervising student helpers as needed.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
