Job summary

Baltimore County Public Schools seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to lead the school health services program. You will provide health consultation to principals, administer care and medications, and coordinate emergency and routine health services for students and staff.

The role requires an active MD RN license and CPR certification, with at least two years of nursing experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred; relocation or additional pay options may be available.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate’s degree in nursing OR completion of a nursing diploma program.
• Two years of professional nursing experience.
• Possession of a valid license to practice registered nursing (RN) and CPR certification.
• Knowledge of the nursing process and nursing management of common acute and chronic health conditions of the school population.
• Skill in recording and maintaining records and in communicating with students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Manages the school health services program, including delegation and oversight of staff.
• Administers first aid and health care treatments, including medications.
• Identifies health barriers to student achievement and helps remediate them.
• Provides and coordinates health care interventions, including emergency responses.
• Develops care plans for students with chronic health conditions.
• Assesses health needs of the school community.
• Maintains school health records and ensures compliance with health mandates.
• Promotes a safe and orderly school environment.
• Provides health counseling and education to support healthy choices.
