Job summary

Jeffco Public Schools is seeking a Lead Food Service Worker to support the district’s food service program. This hourly role requires preparing and serving meals, maintaining a clean kitchen and performing Site Manager duties when needed.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic math and strong communication skills, and be prepared to obtain a Certified Food Protection Manager certification within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certified Food Protection Manager required within 90 days of hire.
• Basic math and good writing/communication skills are essential.
• Knowledge of safety, proper food handling, storage, and temperature control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food in a clean, sanitary kitchen.
• Read recipes and follow approved instructions to ensure food quality.
• Assist with tracking inventory and labeling/storing food.
• Perform Site Manager duties in absence and supervise staff as needed.
• Interact positively with students, staff, parents, and community.
• Operate cash register and computer.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and hygiene standards.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE as required.
