Job summary

Yay Lunch at Bethlehem Catholic High School is seeking a Lead Cook to run the kitchen on your shift, hands-on at the line and in prep, ensuring every student meal is on spec and on time.

You will lead a small team, manage hot and cold production, maintain food safety logs, inventory with FEFO, and coordinate with school administration to share updates and collect feedback for better service.

Qualifications

• Current Food Handler certification (required); ServSafe a plus.
• Experience in a high-volume kitchen - school food service, catering, or similar.
• Strong knife skills and comfort with both hot line and cold prep.
• Detail-oriented: you follow recipes, you label correctly, you don't cut corners.
• Reliable, on time, and ready to work hard from the moment you walk in.

Responsibilities

• Hot Food Production: cook from recipe cards and portion correctly every time.
• Cold Batch Production: manage weekly batch days, label use-by dates, FEFO enforced.
• Kitchen Pars & Inventory: weekly counts, order based on counts, log waste daily.
• Team Development: brief shifts, debrief twice a week, address performance issues.
• Sales & School Happiness: communicate with school admin, collect feedback.
