Job summary

Maschio's Food Service Inc. in Stafford Township, NJ, is seeking a Kitchen Lead/Cook to join our school food service team. Monday through Friday, 7am to 1pm.

This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone who enjoys cooking, staying organized, and working in a fast-paced school kitchen. The Kitchen Lead is the primary point person in the kitchen, preparing nutritious meals for students for two schools while overseeing the daily flow of food service operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial, restaurant, institutional, or school cooking.
• Leadership or supervisory experience in a kitchen is a plus.
• Experience using a POS system or willingness to learn.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to lift, stand, and perform the physical duties of a commercial kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch for students.
• Serve meals to students in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Lead daily kitchen operations and serve as the primary kitchen contact.
• Complete required production records and other food service documentation.
• Operate the POS system accurately.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards.
• Assist with menu planning and recipe development.
• Work collaboratively with the food service team to provide high-quality meals.
