Caliday School Age Teachers assist the Program Director in the operations of the before and after care program for school age children; implementing activities to ensure the Caliday mission, vision and values are upheld, and the children are provided with a safe and learning environment. To provide support and direction to the teacher assistant.

Qualifications

• AA or BA in Elementary Education, Psychology, Child Development, Family Studies or related field.
• CPR and First Aid, Basic Health and Safety, and ADA training certificates.
• 400 hours of experience with school-age children in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Manages the program space, ensuring compliance with MSDE-OCC regulations and policies.
• Provides a welcoming environment for children, parents and visitors.
• Implements age-appropriate, engaging activities per Caliday curriculum; manages classroom management.
• Assists and supervises children during activities; uses Conscious Discipline for behavior.
• Communicates with parents, greeting by name and providing updates on program happenings.
• Maintains open communication with team, parents and school community.
• Ensures the classroom appearance, cleanliness, and safety are maintained.
• Identifies opportunities or problems and works with the team to resolve.
• Maintains yearly certification requirements including Continuing Education Credits.
