Job summary

Kiewit Power Constructors District is seeking a Lead Scheduler to partner with construction and engineering teams to develop and maintain schedules on major EPC power projects. You will lead a small team of schedulers on a project site in Homer City, PA, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met and communicating progress to clients and stakeholders.

You will manage resource-loaded schedules, evaluate changes, and apply engineering and procurement terminology to maintain critical path logic.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy industrial scheduling.
• Experience leading teams of schedulers on an integrated schedule.
• Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, project controls software such as Primavera P6 and InEight Suite.

Position Overview

As a Lead Scheduler, you will get the opportunity to work closely with construction and engineering operations as you develop engineering and construction schedules. You will be responsible for building and updating schedules as various milestones and project deliverables are completed or added to the scope of work, while also providing updates to key project team members on the progress of projects and connecting with the client. You will also lead a small team of schedulers on a project site.

District Overview

Kiewit Power Constructors provides direct-hire construction services for Power Generation utilizing a union craft force. Kiewit Power Constructors builds major EPC power plant and solar projects throughout North America.

Location

This District has a home office in Lenexa, Kansas but leads work all over North America. This specific position must report to the project site in Homer City, PA.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with project managers, engineers, designers, procurement staff, construction managers, contractors and other project services staff to provide detailed planning and scheduling of projects from conceptual planning through engineering and construction
• Develop resource loaded schedules, including lists of activities, major milestones, critical approvals, long lead procurement items and other critical project deliverables to be scheduled and tracked for the projects
• Develop schedule logic and constraints, realistic activity durations and available manpower and resources
• Assess the impact of design changes and schedule slippages and inform company management and clients of all schedule updates
• Apply engineering, procurement, and construction terminology and concepts to develop and maintain critic path logic networks; accumulate and access historical data for use in maintaining realistic future planning and forecasting
• Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control problems. Interface with clients, attend regular meetings and give schedule health reports.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with computers and software including Microsoft Office products
• Experience in Heavy Industrial Scheduling preferred
• Experience manging teams of schedulers on an integrated schedule.
• Experience in Delay Claims and Change Orders
• Knowledge of, or a willingness to learn about, various project controls software, such as inEight Suite, Primavera P6, etc.
• Ability to travel and/or relocate as needed
• Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in a wide-ranging climates and environments
