Job summary

Kiewit Power Constructors in Lenexa, KS is seeking a Scheduling Manager to lead the Estimate Scheduling Group for power generation and infrastructure proposals. You will oversee 2–3 schedulers, ensure CPM-based schedule development aligns with RFP requirements, and collaborate with Estimating, Proposal PM, and Engineering Manager to deliver Level 2 schedules.

This on-site role requires 5–7 years of scheduling experience, proficiency in Primavera P6, and a hands-on approach to complex estimates

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in engineering/construction management or related field.
  • 5–7 years of project scheduling experience, preferably in power/infra.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 scheduling software.
  • Experience with proposal development and RFP analysis is a plus.
  • On-site in Lenexa, KS office, with travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the Estimate Scheduling Group, managing 2–3 schedulers for high-quality schedule development.
  • Support District Scheduling Manager in preparing Level 2 Proposal Schedules for projects.
  • Apply CPM scheduling to ensure scope, calendars, milestones and RFP requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with Estimating, Proposal PM and Engineering Manager for Level 2 schedules and CPM Longest Path analysis.
  • Lead the use of ALICE optimization during Baseline Schedule Development to improve planning.
  • Maintain Schedule Benchmark Tools like Milestones Comparables and Schedule Velocity metrics.
  • Provide hands-on support for larger/complex estimates as working lead.
  • Review EPC Level 3 Baseline to ensure consistency with developed plan.

Position Overview

The Estimating Proposal Scheduling Manager is responsible for leading the Estimate Scheduling Group in support of district-level scheduling efforts for major power generation and infrastructure construction proposals. This role is central to the development and optimization of project schedules, ensuring alignment with proposal requirements and supporting successful project delivery through meticulous planning and coordination.

District Overview

Kiewit Power Constructors (KPC) provides direct-hire construction services for Power Generation utilizing a union craft force. Kiewit Power Constructors builds major EPC power plant and solar projects throughout North America.

Location

This position is based at our Lenexa, KS office and requires full onsite presence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the Estimate Scheduling Group, managing 2–3 schedulers to ensure high quality schedule development and execution while fostering a strong sense of ownership and pride in the team’s work.
  • Support the District Scheduling Manager in preparing and maintaining Level 2 Proposal Schedules for assigned projects.
  • Utilize Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling techniques to guarantee estimates include appropriate scope, calendars, milestones, and any specific requirements outlined in the Request for Proposal (RFP).
  • Collaborate with the Estimating Department, Proposal Project Manager, and Engineering Manager to deliver accurate Level 2 Schedules, ensuring a proper CPM Longest Path analysis, resource loading, and development of Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) histograms.
  • Lead the application of ALICE optimization technology during Baseline (Level 3) Schedule Development to enhance project planning and execution.
  • Continuously maintain and improve Schedule Benchmark Tools, including Milestones Comparables and Schedule Velocity metrics, to support ongoing schedule performance assessment.
  • Serve as a working lead, providing hands‑on support for larger or more complex estimates.
  • Support the review and analysis of the EPC Level 3 Baseline to confirm consistency with the estimate‑developed plan.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in project scheduling, preferably in power generation or infrastructure construction.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software (Primavera P6).
  • Experience with proposal development and RFP analysis a plus.
  • On-site in the Lenexa, KS Office
  • Travel as required to assist estimate efforts and collect historical data or feedback from ongoing projects.
