Job summary

KBR is seeking a Senior Satellite Command & Control Systems Engineer in El Segundo, CA. You will lead architecture, integration, and sustainment of MILSATCOM C2 systems, guiding technical direction, mentoring engineers, and coordinating with government and industry partners on complex mission planning challenges.

Qualifications

• Top Secret clearance eligibility required.
• 15+ years' experience in systems engineering with leadership.
• 10+ years' experience in satellite C2, TT&C, or ground segments.
• Experience owning requirements baselines, ICDs, and technical reviews.
• Strong CCSDS TT&C standards knowledge and system architecture.
• Proven ability to lead trade studies, risk management, and technical decisions.
• Proven leadership and mentoring of engineering staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with senior stakeholders.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain C2 system requirements, concepts, and interfaces for spacecraft command, telemetry, planning, and network operations.
• Define and manage C2 interfaces between ESS space, ground, terminal, cryptographic, and partner systems.
• Support development and integration of C2 architectures including command generation, authentication, telemetry processing, mission management, and operator workflows.
• Perform requirements analysis and develop verification methods for C2 functions.
• Support development of C2 ICDs, telemetry databases, operator procedures, and mission thread products.
• Evaluate end-to-end data flows to meet performance, resiliency, cybersecurity, and interoperability.
• Support integration and test activities for C2 systems, mission ops, spacecraft interfaces, and ground infra.
• Conduct technical assessments and trade studies on C2 architecture, automation, and mission planning.
• Collaborate with mission ops, cybersecurity, ground systems, flight software, and spacecraft engineering to resolve issues.
• Support security engineering for secure C2, authentication, access control, RMF compliance.
• Participate in system engineering reviews, readiness activities, anomaly resolution for ESS C2.
• Support configuration management and baseline control for C2 requirements and documentation.
